There is no single treatment that is effective for melasma. 👉🏻Topical hydroquinone is still considered the most effective. Followed by topical retinoids, and 15-20% azelaic acid. Improvements are even better when these are combined. 👉🏻Newer treatments including Cysteamine and topical and oral tranexamic acid show promising results. 👉🏻Other ingredients such as kojic acid, arbutin, licorice, vitamin C, AHA, niacinamide can also be helpful. 👉🏻Therapy is often best when combined with procedures such as chemical peels, microneedling, and certain laser/light treatments, although rebound is common 👉🏻Photoprotection remains most important-Sunscreen, sun protective hats/clothing and oral polypodium leucotomos supplements 👉🏻We always recommend seeing a dermatologist for personalized treatment. ✨However, for those we are not able to see a derm, stay tuned for part 3, we will share few of our favorite drugstore treatment products! Melasma is an ongoing issue that both young and old struggle with, and it oftentimes gets confused with hyperpigmentation. While hyperpigmentation can usually be traced back to a specific cause, Dr. Karam explains that melasma is a different story. The cause of melasma is not clear, but there are certain circumstances that experts say can attribute to melasma's occurrence, such genetics, birth control pills, pregnancy, and sun exposure. While the cause may not currently be 100% understood, there are certainly things we can be doing to help prevent melasma from happening. It's most important to understand that living a healthy skincare lifestyle, and consistently using quality active skincare ingredients along with sun protection, will always help you to prevent skin conditions like melasma from happening. Making good decisions for your skin and overall health and wellbeing will always be the key to maintaining a beautiful, youthful complexion. WATCH MORE FROM DR. These peels are gentle to the skin yet very effective. Depending on the skin condition and ethnicity, multiple peels are needed for best results. A series of three peels performed six weeks apart can greatly improve the color and texture of the skin. Read more on DrD's blog 🤍
Melasma treatment is necessary for fading dark spots. Learn how to get rid of melasma, especially melasma on dark skin. Did I help you in any way? Donate coffee for support! ☕😃 ►🤍 Let's keep in touch on Instagram. ►🤍 Proudcts I Mentioned: Hydroquinone ► 🤍 Kojic Acid ► 🤍 Azelaic Acid ► 🤍 Sunscreen ► 🤍 Moisturizer ► 🤍 What is Melasma Melasma is a common pigmentation disorder that causes brown or gray patches to appear on the skin, primarily on the face. As a result, people with darker skin tones are more likely to develop melasma, as they have more melanocytes than people with lighter skin. Symptoms of Melasma The symptoms of melasma are going to look different depending on a person’s skin tone. But In general, melasma causes patches of dark skin on high points of the face. And Melasma on dark skin appears as dark brown or grey-brown patches. These patches often appear in a symmetric pattern on both sides of the face, mainly appearing on the cheeks, nose, forehead, upper lip, and chin. How does Melasma form? It occurs when melanocytes, which produce the pigment you see on your skin, when they produce too much pigmentation in the skin, the result is dark patches. People with black or brown skin have more melanocytes. This means that they are more likely to develop melasma than people with lighter complexions. Melasma treatment creams 1.) Hydroquinone. If your currently on a regimen of hydroquinone, which works by blocking melanin production, keep following your dermatologists instructions until the melasma clears up. The most common melasma therapies include the 2% hydroquinone (HQ) creams, and Clinical studies do show us that creams containing 2% HQ can be effective in lightening the skin and are less irritating than higher concentrations used for melasma. 2.) Kojic acid. Kojic acid, Inhibits an enzyme necessary in the production of melanin, helping to fade dark spots and discoloration. It also delivers some antioxidant protection and you’ll likely start to see results within two weeks. 3.) Azelaic acid. Azelaic acid works to improve melasma in two ways. First, it encourages cell turnover to exfoliate the skin and promote new, healthy skin growth. Second, azelaic acid also has antioxidant properties that help remove free radicals that can contribute to dull skin for a naturally brighter complexion DISCLAIMER: The information provided on this site is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The problem is that with homemade recipes, is that they are homemade, they are not clinically formulated. 4th Mistake: Believing that melasma can be cured. Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by brown or gray patches on the face, typically on the cheeks, forehead, chin, and upper lip. While there is no definitive cure for melasma, several treatment options can help manage and reduce its appearance. It's important to note that results may vary, and in today's video I am giving you a personalized treatment plan to remove melasma at home. This for people struggling with stubborn melasma. Remember that consistency and patience are key when treating melasma. It may take several weeks or even months to see noticeable improvements. It's also important to continue sun protection measures even after the pigmentation fades to prevent melasma from worsening or recurring. Base routine AM 4 X per week 1. Cleanse 2. Moisturiser Twice a month Chemical Peels: Chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the top layer and promotes the growth of new, evenly pigmented skin. Superficial peels using alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) can be effective for treating melasma. While following this routine ensure to use hydrating cleansers & toners. Stay focused on Sun protection Sun Protection: Protecting your skin from the sun is crucial in managing melasma. Always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF (30 or above) and reapply it every two hours. Additionally, wear wide-brimmed hats and seek shade when the sun is strongest, usually between 10 am and 4 pm.. The exact cause of melasma is not fully understood, but several factors are believed to contribute to its development. These include: Sun Exposure: Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is a significant risk factor for melasma. Sun exposure can stimulate the production of melanin (the pigment responsible for skin color) and trigger the formation of melasma patches. Individuals with melasma often notice their condition worsening during the summer months when sun exposure is more intense. Hormonal Factors: Hormonal changes, particularly in women, play a role in melasma. It is commonly associated with pregnancy (also known as the "mask of pregnancy" or chloasma), as well as the use of hormonal contraceptives like birth control pills. Hormonal fluctuations during menopause can also contribute to the development of melasma. Genetic Predisposition: There appears to be a genetic component to melasma, as it tends to run in families. If you have a close family member with melasma, you may have a higher risk of developing the condition yourself. Ethnicity: Melasma is more common in individuals with darker skin tones, such as those of African, Asian, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern descent. People with more melanin in their skin are generally more prone to developing melasma. Other Triggers: Certain factors or triggers can exacerbate melasma or contribute to its onset. These may include hormonal medications, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT), certain cosmetics or skincare products, thyroid dysfunction, and certain medications that make the skin more sensitive to UV radiation. #How to Remove Melasma from Face Permanently at Home I Melasma Removal Treatment #melasma #melasmaremoval #melasmatreatment
Melasma is a common condition in women of coloured skin who have brown skin and this is an increased pigmentation which is classically seen in the mid face area, on the cheeks, on the bridge of the nose, it can extend to the forehead, to the chin and it can even occur on the arms. This is a condition which distresses most woman because it pigments the face and it is disfiguring for them. They would do anything to get it better. But when you look at the origin of melasma it is a combination of sun exposure, familial inheritance type, stress, exposure to too much heat, not eating enough antioxidants like brightly coloured fruits and vegetables. So when you have these things which are causing this a home remedy may not be a correct solution. But using a good sunscreen and using it religiously helps in lightening it out. So even if you are indoors or outdoors use your sunscreen. Eating a lot of fruits and vegetables especially tomatoes, carrots, figs, pomegranates, papayas these have got a lot of lycopenes, beta carotenoids, bioflavanoids which are all antioxidants. They help to brighten out the skin. Using products may actually be harmful to the skin because these have little bit of chemicals in them like lemon has citric acid. So when you put such things on the skin they actually dry out the skin. They make the skin more sensitive and the melasma which is an inflammatory disorder may actually become worse. So if you are not getting better by doing a simple sunscreen and eating a healthy diet. They can advice you on chemical peels or treatments or tablets which will help to keep the melasma in check.

Suffering from Melasma, Here's the solution! A condition in which brown patches appear on the face. Melasma can be due to hormonal changes during pregnancy or from sun exposure. In women, melasma often fades on its own after pregnancy or after an affected woman stops taking contraceptive pills. Skin lightening creams can help lasting melasma. Here is my experience on how I got rid of my pigmentation/melasma/hyperpigmentation. Dark spots are often caused by sun damage, the skin produces too much melanin and you are left with dark spots that only get worse when you're in the sun. In order to remove these dark spots/patches, you require a specific laser treatment. I had 3 laser sessions of PicoSure at the Pulse Light Clinic in Bank, London, which worked brilliantly. I also took their advice and tried the Obagi products to suppress my melasma - watch the tutorial for details on the laser used, the fees and my overall experience. Melasma is a pigmentation of the skin which causes depression in some women and n some men because it is significantly affecting the appearance of the efface. Its present on the forehead, checks, nose, and chin area this pigmentation can be form light brown to dark brown and have clear demarcations. Pigmentation gradually increases over time. Most commonly it happens during the child bearing age and women develop due to hormonal changes or oral medications containing hormones. Pigmentation is a very challenging thing and it has to be treated with the right hormones. Experimenting on skin or using steroid can cause complications and worsen the problems. I suggest consult a doctor or a dermatologist before treating the patient. Using sunscreen is a very basic requirement t of melasma pigmentation. Pigmentation can increase even with 2 to 3 minutes of exposure. Just 1 and half minute in sunlight in peak hours can cause significant tanning during peak hours. Hence using sunscreen ideally and enough quantities on the skin will protect the skin against increased pigmentation. Apart from basic skin care here are some bleaching agents that can be used which are safe and unsafe. So consult a doctor. These creams have to be used at right which helps in lightening of the skin. These are home care products. There are procedures that can be done to take away the pigmentation which is like a skin rejuvenating peel or a chemical peel which is done in multiple sessions. This takes away the pigmentation and clears the skin. Further options are lasers can be used or there are other products that are having combination of medicines that will lighten the skin. So melasma can be tackled very well with the available medications now and gives us good results.

Apple cider vinegar sa dark spots: 🤍 🤍 What are the home remedies to get rid of dark spots or hyperpigmentation? Hyperpigmentation o dark spots ay isang kondisyon kung saan ang ibang parte ng balat ay maitim kesa sa ibang parte. Nangyayari ito kapag ang balat ay gumagawa ng sobrang pigment na ang tawag ay melanin. (nih/healthline) So, paano ito mawawala?
